The day of March 16, 2015 was the start of something new and
we started it with a bang. First, we did yoga and video critiquing in the
morning and role playing in the afternoon. Generally it was tiring but I definitely
enjoyed it.
Honestly,
the yoga class was a bit hard for me because I have a hard time stretching my
joints and muscles. After all those hardships, I realized that yoga was all
worth it. This is because I learned, through modeling, how one should teach a
fitness exercise in front of a group of people. The next activity, video
critiquing, is almost like reflecting about my good and my bad points when I
taught a client in my video. Before this course, I thought that I did pretty
well in that video clip but now I realized that I still have many points to
improve on. Lastly is the role playing, I was quite confident about it because
we always did patient-therapist simulated cases on our past courses. This time
I was completely shocked with our patient’s case because we have a little
background on our case and we do not know what to do. I then realized that I
still need to study harder for the welfare of my patients or my students.
There
is no perfect teaching session and because of this, every day we must continue
to reflect on ourselves, criticize our acts, and through these improve each and
every upcoming session we have with our patients/students. We must strive hard
to become better not just for ourselves but for our patients as well. These
things, when done, can help us give our patients the best in our profession.
