PT: Planning for Teaching

Last March 23, 2015, we had a whole-day workshop on making an instructional design. Basically, an instructional design is like a blueprint for teaching.

At first, I thought that making objectives was easy. I admit that sometimes I just ignore the objectives during class, but now I know that they are there for a reason. There is a lot of things to consider in making the objectives such as the level of the capabilities of the learner/s, the context in which it will be applied, the domain and level which is being targeted, etc. It should be kept in mind also that the objectives to be made are attainable and measurable.

With the general strategy, creativity is really needed. It was a bit difficult for me, too. I think, most of my creative juices were already consumed during our GE days. However, when I did the general strategy, it was exciting as I could already imagine what would happen during the implementation or the actual teaching of ID.

Making an instructional design, in general, was difficult at first. However, as you are getting the hang of it, it gets easier and enjoyable too. It lets you explore a lot of possibilities while still focused on the goals. The instructional design is only half of the work. However, it is too, already half of the work and deserves to be worked hard on.

As future PT/teacher, the instructional designs that I would do should be according to the patient/client's needs as a learner.
