Today is the day. I tried so
hard to prepare but in the end I still wasn't ready. This is the day we had to
make an instructional design!
I expected it to be hard, and I
was right. But what matters is that I finished it and was able to make the
design as concise and clear as possible. In the process of making the
instructional design, the main thing going on in my mind was “what should I do
first for my client?” I kept repeating this question over and over until I came
up with actually making tangible objectives that I know I can evaluate with my
patient. It was a little hard for me to make the objectives since I want to
make it right not only for me but also for my patient. And it even further
makes me realize that making the modules or power points or the day’s lecture
would be difficult for a professor or instructor and they have to do it (almost)
every day.
I think that this
instructional design would help us not only in the academe but also in managing
activities that we would teach our clients. This helps us in setting a desired
goal as well as being able to objectively see the progress and just
subjectively. This activity also helps us organize our thoughts in determining
which activity comes first or works hand-in-hand with other activities.
For my future self and
practice, I would suggest to practice! Also, I would suggest to organize my
thoughts as it gets clouded with anxiety and stress whenever I couldn't think
of what to do or write. I also would recommend to keep the patient’s attitude
and interest first. Lastly, I would suggest to be better than prepared, be very
prepared!
